Craft Cottage Christmas Party

There was an abundance of Christmas cheer this year as our group of 25 people sat down to a delicious lunch at the Logan Village Pub.  We also played a few Christmas inspired games, cracked bon bons and exchanged Secret Santa gifts!

We are a very friendly group who are always on the lookout for new members to join us.  If you live locally, have a passion for arts and crafts, and a couple of days a month to spare, this might be the group for you!  Pop in for a chat one week day.  We are located in Doo Dropp Inn Cottage, Wharf Street, Logan Village, Queensland.
The Logan Village Community Craft Cottage is a sub-committee of the Logan Village Community Centre.

Ladies Day of Elegance

The Logan Village Community Craft Cottage held it's annual Ladies' Day of Elegance on Thursday the 8th of September 2011.  It was a wonderful day for women from various local community organisations to meet together in a social setting.  They enjoyed a lovely high tea, viewed a display organised by the Logan Village Historical Museum on women of the area and had the opportunity to browse and purchase from the on site craft shop.

Masterpieces

The ladies have very successfully completed their folk art basics course and each produced a wonderful painting of Australian native flowers.  Hopefully we'll manage to squeeze in a few more craft classes before the end of the year, so if you're a local and interested in learning a new technique, come down to the Logan Village Community Craft Cottage and talk to one of our very friendly volunteers!

Folk Art Classes

Friday has been Folk Art Day at the Logan Village Community Centre of late, with several ladies learning how to paint a spray of Australian flowers with decorative painter, Beccy Muir.  They are about three quarters of the way through the course and have mastered the techniques of round brush painting, highlighting and stippling.
