The Logan Village Community Centre was originally established by the Beaudesert Shire Council to provide meeting places, services and activities for the residents of Logan Village and surrounds. Now a part of Logan City, and still managed by the residents of Logan Village, the Community Centre continues with its original purpose of providing a central hub for those living in the local area.

Col Ferguson Cottage
Originally situated on the corner of Wharf and Albert Streets, this old cottage has been named after one of Logan Village’s blacksmiths. The cottage was probably built around 1886 by the then joint owners – August Holzheimer, John Holzheimer and John Poots, who took possession of the land on the 12th of June 1886.
Col Ferguson Cottage is now the regular meeting place for the Logan Village Community Centre, Logan Village Friends of the Library, Alcoholics Anonymous, Gideons International and the Logan Village Christian Family.
The Old School Building
This two story building is now the regular meeting place for the Logan Village Christian Family and their Youth Adventure Group, Logan Village Playgroup, Logan and Beaudesert Country Music Club and the Logan and Beaudesert Bushwalkers.
The Old School building was completed and opened on 19th September 1900 to replace the existing school building, which became the Headmaster’s residence, and currently houses the local library (pictured below). The school building was taken over by the Beaudesert Shire Council in 1981 and raised to accommodate the further use by groups and citizens in the area, effectively creating two meeting areas in the one building.
Community Groups
Museum and Local History Centre
The Logan Village Museum and Local History Centre is situated on the western side of the complex fronting River Street. It features wonderful displays of local artefacts, maps, photographs and historical information.
Logan Village Community Craft Cottage
The Logan Village Community Craft Cottage is housed in the Doo Dropp Inn building, which was once the residence of an early Vicar and originally situated on River Road. Now a quaint local arts and crafts shop, it is open most days and new members are always welcome.
Logan Village Craft Group
The Logan Village Craft Group is made up of local ladies who meet on a regular basis to socialise and make art and craft items to donate to the wider community. Their projects include items such as knitted trauma bears for children requiring treatment at the local blood collection centre, beanies for premature babies and other knitted items for local nursing homes. The Craft Group is open to all members of the community and enjoy having new faces come along to join in the fun.
The Community Centre complex has a multipurpose court and a popular and highly regarded skate park that is regularly utilised by young people and families from the local and outlying areas. Both of these facilities are provided free of charge.
Also popular in the complex are the two children’s playgrounds adjacent to the covered picnic area and free electric barbeques.
The Village Green
The Village Green has been established as an open area able to be used for fairs and functions as well as a quiet place for walks and picnics. The area has been designed to complement the BBQ and play facilities around the Community Centre while still providing its own area for community recreation.
The Village Green is home to the annual Logan Village Australia Day Celebrations, Friends of the Library Open Days, Carols by Candlelight, Country Muster, Ladies Day of Elegance High Tea, Halloween Celebration, Movies in the Park, Greatest Morning Tea for Cancer research and occasional markets as well as other casual community events and activities.
